Do you love food and are ready for a career where people are at the center? At City Gross, everything we do is about helping and inspiring our customers to a better everyday life. Our heart beats a little extra for fresh produce, and we believe in people. We believe we become better when we have different backgrounds and experiences. Whether you are showcasing freshly harvested vegetables, cutting a perfect piece of meat, ensuring that the shelves are always well-stocked, or creating campaigns that meet our customers' needs, everyone is here for one reason: to create an amazing customer experience.
About the job
Position: Summer temporary position with varying hours during the summer of 2026.
Start date: 2026-06-01 or by agreement.
Working hours: Early mornings, daytime, late evenings, and weekends are a natural part of the job.
We welcome applicants of all ages, but due to the Work Environment Act, you must be at least 18 years old to work in our production departments for meat, fish & deli, or bakery.
You put the finishing touch on the customer experience
You have the chance to make a significant impact on our customers' visits, so you have an important role in making the customer experience smooth and pleasant. This can involve a friendly smile, an unexpected question, or a helpful attitude, so that the customer finds their way in the store. You should ensure that the customer leaves satisfied - preferably with an extra item in their bag and a good feeling in their body!
What will you do?
Every day brings new meetings and challenges, but some of your main tasks will be:
- Ensuring that customers leave the store with a smile (and maybe an extra item or new inspiration).
- Working with packaging, restocking, and creating a pleasant store environment with order and tidiness.
- Collaborating with colleagues throughout the store – we are a team and help where needed!
The tasks vary depending on which Fresh Produce department you work in!
- In our meat department, you will work with cutting fresh Swedish meat, prepared in-store.
- Contributing to offering our customers a fresh and inviting meat and charcuterie department.
- Working with customer service and sales over the counter in our manual fish and delicatessen department.
- Working with baking and producing everything from sourdough bread to princess cakes.
- Handling customer orders, restocking, and creating a pleasant store environment with order and tidiness.
- Contributing to offering our customers a fresh and inspiring bakery department.
Who are you?
You are a natural problem solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment. A friendly hello and an extra helping hand are second nature to you. Do you have a great interest in really good meat? Great! If you have worked with meat and cutting – even better!
We believe that you:
- Have a high school education and are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. Since our customers speak more languages than that, it’s fantastic if you do too.
- Previous experience/education in fresh produce handling and cutting is an advantage.
- Previous experience/education in bakery or pastry making is an advantage.
- Love meeting customers and believe that service should be genuine and engaging.
- Enjoy working together and contribute with energy and joy.
- Are curious, solution-oriented, and see when something needs to be done and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get it done!
What do you get?
- Secure conditions – We have collective agreements with Handels and Unionen.
- Real career opportunities – There are chances to grow with us! Many of our store managers started right where you are now.
Does this sound like something for you? Submit your application – we look forward to meeting you!
